Questions

Who is the lawyer?

MGK Legal is the practice of one experienced corporate and commercial lawyer in Melbourne with a current Victorian practising certificate. The name is on your quote, so you can check it on the public register before you pay anything. That lawyer reviews and signs off every document you receive.

How does our procurement team approve you?

Every quote comes with a supplier approval pack: practising certificate, certificate of insurance, ABN registration, the conflict check result and our security summary. More for finance and procurement.

Can we use a purchase order?

Yes. Add it when you send the request, or later on your page. Businesses with 20 or more staff, or turnover of $10 million or more, that give a purchase order get the work on delivery and an invoice payable in 14 days. Everyone else pays when the work is ready, by saved card or bank transfer, and the work is released then.

Who is our contract with?

MGK Legal, a Victorian law practice. The quote you accept and our standard terms set out the scope, the price and your rights. Work over $750 comes with a written costs disclosure.

Can I talk to someone?

Not by phone. Everything is in writing, so you keep a record of every answer and the price stays fixed. Write to us on our contact page, or ask on your page once you have sent something. You get a written answer within 2 business days.

What if something goes wrong?

Tell us on your page. Our complaints process answers in writing within ten business days, and you can take it to the Victorian Legal Services Board and Commissioner.

What do you not do?

Disputes and debt recovery. Buying or selling a business, shares or property, raising money, or setting up a company or trust. Leases, building and construction contracts, franchise agreements and tender responses. Personal legal problems: we act only for businesses. We do not negotiate for you: you send the email in your own name.

Send the contract. See the price. Decide then.
